Chronic of a death foretold Book Cover

I was really excited for this assigment because it was the first one that let me use images in my work, I'm not an illustrator by any means, and the first couple of months, especially the first semester were rough in terms of my work and how confident I felt with my skills, this assigment helped me gain more confidence on what I could do. The cover itself is for Chronicle of a Death Foretold, a Colombian novel written by Nobel prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquez and tells the story of Santiago Nasar and his murder.

“Swissted” - Jorge Drexler Cover

For this assignment, I did a poster for one of my favourite singers, Jorge Drexler. I felt particulary good with this one because it was my first 10 work in the whole year, it sounds kind of bad that my first 10 work was in second semester but that's the truth. The fact that I could also put it up in the classroom for everyone to see now and in the future was also really fun.

First Year Highlights

My first highlight of the year was when we did artworks presenting ourselves to our classmates in IDES 141, I was really proud of my work and I received really good reactions from my classmates, i had just arrived from my home country and it made me feel welcome in Canada.

I would say my second highlight of the year is getting to know my friends, I was and still am really shy and it was hard for me to introduce myself but at the end it all worked out and now feel really grateful for the friends I've made.

The 3rd highlight for me would be to improve in illustration, even though I am far from being good at it, I feel that compared to the level I had before, there is a slight improvement, even if it is not super good, I feel it is better, and that's enough for me.
