Introverts at a Garden Party
For IDES132 this was our first assignment, a black & white line drawing using ink with a mandatory full figure and naturalistic elements. I chose to express two people bonding quietly in their isolation from the social scene that tired them.
Romanticized Golf Course
In IDES131 we had to paint a landscape with gouache paint. I painted a golf course I took a picture of at Sunshine Coast up the hill.
First Year Highlights
One big highlight of first year is connecting with the people in our class. The people in this class are very nice and inspiring and I'm excited to continue these remaining three years with them.
Another highlight I got from this year is learning from the amazing professors. Each of their approaches to helping us with projects through feedback and criticism. Criticism has a gained a positive association with helpful advice for improvement. The feedback professors gave helped me to ask questions to myself when working on projects.
The last highlight has got to be the resources provided to us which allows me to explore new mediums since I hadn't invested in any traditional materials other than sketchbooks.
