Oil painting self portrait: Doppelganger
This was a project for in IDES 131 Survery of Illustration class. I did a self portrait of myself and added a twist to it, where the portrait of me is not really me but my own skinsuit that I wear everyday. I was inspired by survival horror games and wanted to project it onto my self portrait. I believe this was my first real project experimenting with oil, and it was a fun learning process. It was like acrylic but perfect for procrastinators.
Typographic Expressionism Book Cover: Charlotte's Web
This was another fun assignment where we redesigned book covers. I chose my childhood favourite book, Charlotte's Web and experimented with the idea of telling the whole story using Charlotte's Web, as she does in the book.
First Year Highlights
I liked how we got to view everyone's hard work in illustration and creative thinking class, it was like Christmas all over again. It was inspiring to see them and it made me happy to get feedback and give feedback.
When we went to go get icecream during the printing fieldtrip and also the downtown trip, it's always exciting to go outside and see what's going on outside the classroom.
Contributing to the Paul and John shrine. Yes, I'm the culprit that drew John in my 2d background drawing assignment. :P
