American Psycho
This piece was made for Vida’s conceptual movie poster project. After some deliberation, and failed attempts at finding symbolism in “White Chicks,” I moved on to American psycho (probably because its dissection the American dream). I feel that the symbolism of Bateman peeling off his mask to nothing beyond the surface level was an interesting take on the material. I found this project with Vida very informative, and I really like the final product.
Heath
In this project for Shayne, we were encouraged to use awkward portraits, so I thought, what could possibly be any more awkward than a picture of my little brother when he was probably 5 years old? In the photo reference, he’s making such an odd expression, but to me, his eyes stood out the most, so I wanted to capture that. During the process, I wiped away my paint probably three times, but in the end, I’m very happy with the piece overall.
