Narrative Sequence Project
This project is meaningful to me because it represents a small but personally significant step toward a much larger life goal: Creating a graphic novel. While I’ve spent years developing my drawing skills, I’ve had less experience with sequential storytelling. This piece was a practice in problem-solving through effective visual storytelling and narrative beats. It sparked a strong sense of excitement and reminded me of that dream of mine.
Oil Portrait Project
This painting marks my first serious attempt at an oil portrait, and it was a breakthrough moment for me. I’ve always been intimidated by painting, but this experience reinforced something a mentor once told me: A strong understanding of drawing and values translates directly into painting. Seeing that principle work in reality was incredibly affirming, and it opened up a really interesting world of possibilities for me in my artistic practice.
