Hatsune Miku

The Hatsune Miku piece was important to me because it was my first time creating a fully digital illustration. I wanted to challenge myself by combining two very different styles—Art Nouveau and anime. Since Miku is a digital idol rather than a real person, it gave me more creative freedom to experiment with stylization, especially in how I handled her form, colours, and flow. I really enjoyed pushing those boundaries and figuring out how to merge the elegance of Art Nouveau with the expressive qualities of anime.

Ado poster

The Ado poster connects more to my personal interests. I originally wanted to create something inspired by Ado earlier in the semester, but I didn’t have the chance. So, for this project, I decided to finally explore that idea. Because Ado is a real artist with a strong identity and fanbase, the approach felt different—I had to think more carefully about mood, tone, and how to visually represent her music and persona. The joy and challenge of bringing Ado out on a Swiss poster rather than her usual over-illustrative posters was super fun.
