It was such a fun chance to be creative and try out different styles and ideas. I liked the process of experimenting with layouts, colors, and typography to capture the vibe of the book in just one image. It pushed me to think more conceptually and not just focus on making something that looks nice. I ended up getting really good feedback from my instructor too, which felt great and gave me more confidence in my design choices. It was definitely one of those projects that reminded me why I love doing this.

It was super interesting to work on, especially because it combined a bit of storytelling, visual impact, and design all in one. At the beginning, it was kind of challenging trying to figure out how to capture the whole mood of a film in just one image — like, where do you even start? But once I got into it and started sketching out ideas, it started to come together. I played around with composition, color, and some bold typography, and in the end, it turned out pretty good. It taught me a lot about visual communication and how to say more with less.

First Year Highlights

My first year at design school was honestly pretty cool. It had its challenges for sure, but I found most of it really interesting. I got to try out new things, mess up a bit, and figure stuff out along the way. Meeting new people was a big highlight too — everyone had their own style and vibe, and the instructors were super different from each other but all had something useful to share. It definitely pushed me, but in a good way. Overall, it was a fun and eye-opening year, and I’m glad I got to go through it.

One of the biggest highlights for me this year was definitely the projects we worked on. Each one was super different, targeting different skills and ways of thinking — from branding stuff to more experimental, conceptual work. They really pushed me to step outside of what I was comfortable with and approach design from different angles. Some were more about technical skills, while others were all about the ideas and storytelling behind the visuals. It wasn’t always easy, but each project taught me something new, and seeing my progress from the first one to the last was actually pretty satisfying.

Another big highlight for me this year was getting to take different types of classes like photography and drawing.
