See No Evil - Impossible Interviews. (Trump & Snookie)

In IDES 132, I created this symbolic guache painting of Snookie and Trump relaxing poolside with their fake tans. I wanted to politically poke fun of Trump's inappropriate behaviour, while judging their fake tans. I ensured to use symbolic gestures with the American flag hidden in the towel patterns.

In Cold Blood - Typographic Book Cover

In IDES 142, I created this book cover for the true crime book "In Cold Blood" - I wanted the typography to be minimal in a way that makes you question the true intentions. While using symbolisim of coffins to establish death and murder. The two highlighted coffins represent the killers of the story, and their impact on Truman Capote's influence. The type I used was Baloo Regular, a san serif that provided a clean finish to the final design.

First Year Highlights

A prominent highlight of my year was leaning on the social networking aspect within my cohort and professors. I've had an amazing oppurtunity to develop such strong relationships on both personal and professional levels. Had I not had a supportive network, I think it would have made the year alot harder.

The second highlight of my first year was exploration and creativity within various mediums. I was pushed out of my comfort zone in many of my projects, so using mediums such as oil paint was really interesting to see my personal progression.

Lastly, a highlight that is most memorable for me was learning to accept criticism, especially within my art. I have taken the time to seperate myself from my art and designs, and it's really made me a better designer.
