After a five year intermission—the 2026 graduates at Capilano University’s IDEA School of Design bring back IDEA Interprets, an annual poster show that explores a single theme through typography and illustration. This year’s theme: Danger.

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, visual artist, illustrator, and educator, Jeff Burgess hosted the ninth annual student exhibition of works produced over the summer by IDEA School of Design students Sophie Young (IDEA21), Alison Johnstone (IDEA21), Charis Wang (IDEA20) (shown above), and Aidan Zecchel (IDEA21). IDEA Interprets explores a single theme through typography and illustration. The poster show and sale helps to support the development of emerging local artists. The theme of the 2019 show, “Growth”, has been imaginatively interpreted by second year illustration and design students. Opening Gala: April 23, 2019 | 6pm-8pm. As the year comes to a close, we invite you to check out these poster designs from IDEA School of Design's annual 'Reflections' poster exhibit earlier this year. The body-themed exhibit featured twenty-two 2nd year students.
