Rayna Lai’s Illustration “Daydreaming” Wins Top Ten in CAPIC Rodeo 17 Student Competition
We are proud to spotlight Rayna Lai, whose stunning illustration, “Daydreaming,” has won Top Ten in the prestigious CAPIC Rodeo 17 national student competition, recognized by judges for its sensitive rendering and captivating introspective narrative.
The award-winning piece, an 18”x 24” water-based oil painting, was inspired by the Impressionists. The illustration began with a reference photo (shown below), capturing a quiet, contemplative moment that she then translated into a universally resonant image with her skilled brushwork.
